We designed this website for The International English Center (IEC) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) which is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA).
The International English Center offers several programs to meet the needs of its diverse student population. It offers English skills and college preparation classes for beginning to advanced students. Unlike all other CU entities, the IEC uniquely uses its website to generate interest and student attendance, as a complete business generation vehicle in addition to providing information, help, and support, and allowing prospective, new, and past students to access a variety of important resources in one central place.
The CU-IEC came to NEWMEDIA to completely redesign, develop in Drupal, and deploy a website that would stand alone as a self-contained, branded entity, while simultaneously fitting comfortably within the CU brand and network of associated websites. It was a challenge. The result speaks for itself. Maintaining the authoritative, classic look and feel of the CU brand, while demonstrating a contemporary, fresh, young and international outlook was potentially a conflict of interest. Through heavy consulting and extensive UI/UX discovery, we crafted a site that serves all stakeholders effectively.
